Well, the Day Without A Home did not go as I excpected it. But since I am trying out journalism, I know that when things don'tturn out as excpected, there is no excuse for not having a story. So here is what I've got:
The more practice, the better this will get.
Aside from that, another problem is on my teenage, overstressed yet optimistic mind: I have to break uop with a friend. I have already compared pros and cons.
Pros
-I will not be controlled by her
-I will not have to deal with her trying to make me look stupid
-I will be assertive, finally.
-No more "gifts". If they were real gifts, she wouldn't use them to get things from me by playing the guilt trip or saying I owe her a favor.
-No more competition.
-I will not have to argue about everything with her.
-I will be free to be me and not in this unhealthy friendship.
Cons
-There could be hard feelings, if not let down easy
-Hard feelings resulting in her determined to seek revenge
-She wont let me borrow this super cool anime
Thus, it is decided.
But how?
Options:
A) the direct aproach. tell her to her face " We cannot be friends anymore". I will be honest and it will feel so good, but this will definitely cause hard feelings, and I am trying to put this to rest-not start frustration.
B) the coward aproach. avoid contact. reply "oh" and "uh-huh" only. I think this is the best option, but it will take time for her to get the messege.
C) the drastic aproach. No feedback or contact of any kind. this would be childish and unfair for her. she deserves to know why I can't stand her.
So I'll take B, the coward aproach. Hopefully it will seem like we don't have much in common anymore. And the last thing that has been bothering me...is the Bible contradicting itself?
"For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that WHOSEVER BELIEVETH IN HIM SHALL NOT PERISH BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE." John 3:16
"Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. the earth and the heavans fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. And I saw the dead, great and small standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which was the book of life. The dead WERE JUDGED ACCORDING TO WHAT THEY HAD DONE..." Revelation 20:11-12
""for if you live according to the sinful nature, YOU WILL DIE; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live." Romans 8:13
It does not say "whosoever believeth in him hath a shot at eternal life". If we believe, according to John, shouldn't that be enough to give us eternal life?
I should ask my dad or something...
